It's been a long time I wrote something now, but here's something that the developers don't want you to know. Legally, you CAN alter your character's appearance. WTFun? REALLY? NO JOKE? YES! You CAN change the character's .ini file in the game's installed folder.

Warning: This is only for those who didn't know about this and never tampered with the installation files before. This is only an informational posting and shouldn't be practiced unless for experimental purpose. Use at your own risk.

The files are located in the following places in your computer:

-> Before the Tide Born expansion, installation directory was "C:\Program Files\Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\user data\character\customize\..."

-> After the Tide Born expansion, installation directory is "C:\ Perfect World Entertainment\Perfect World International\element\user data\character\customize\..."

OK, when you open the "customize" folder, you'll see a bunch of numbered folders, so how do I know which one is which? Simple:

00<- BladeMaster (WR) Male
01<- BladeMaster (WR) Female
10<- Mage (MG) Male
11<- Mage (MG) Female
20<- NOT USED
21<- NOT USED
30<- Barbarian (WB) Male Only
31<- Venomancer (WR) Female Only
40<- Assassin (??) Male*
41<- Assassin (??) Female*
50<- Psychic (??) Male*
51<- Psychic (??) Female*
60<- Archer (EA) Male
61<- Archer (EA) Female
70<- Cleric (EP) Male
71<- Cleric (EP) Female

* Only those who didn't patched the game knows that these files do exist

Let's try out with Female Cleric for example (being folder "71") using the "Groomed.ini" file:

When opening the file, the file reads like this:

Say I liked the face, and some of the colors in this character, but what would I do if I want to see the same thing on a Cleric? 2 Words: COPY PASTE. Yep, it's so simple, even a caveman can DO it! Say for example, I make a new text document and renamed the extension from ".txt" to ".ini" when saving it, it still opens through NotePad. I copy the colors and then her entire face text frame from the archer version, and I place them in a new document. Another way (and much easier then making it from scratch the whole thing) is making the characters from game and altered them outside game. Same thing, I just copy and paste the physical attributes I like from one character to another or from class to another race, the sky is the limit (Barbarians are tricky to customize, except you can add hair to them).

I'll try to be in game more often and write more guides on how-to's in game. The goal is just to have fun and enjoy it to the fullest. See you all in game.

This is useful, but take note that for My-EN client, the class folders are different numbered.
